Awesome belt-vest

Kia ora bloggers, Around the start of the term we started looking at different inventions and did lots of fun things based on that. But a while ago as a class we looked at an invention called the hamster habitat. We looked at things that could be improved like little breathing holes and basic add-ons like that. After a while we made our own habitats but for a different animal.

Me, Zack and Sam decided to do ours for a lizard. We made a vest for the top half and pants for the bottom half and then put them together. But after that we did a long write based on our invention and then we published it. I decided to publish my one on Visme, it is a really good site but the problem was I chose to do poster instead of infographic so I could really fit everything on the poster. But I really liked it so I thought I could show you guys, so here it is.

Home learning (book report)

Kia ora bloggers, some of you might remember a while when I did a book report on death cure ( 3rd book of Maze runner) but there is another activity which is a second book report, so this time I decided to do it on a book called Midnight gang by David Walliams.

It is an awesome book that has so many ups and downs with the characters. I loved this book and I really recommend it for anyone because it is such an exciting book and makes you feel happy.

This is my summary of the book

Breath taking, this book gives you all sorts of emotions, it is truly a roller-coaster ride. In this book you get a better look at the disabilities of some children but then you learn how that if people work together anything is possible. This book can be summed up in one word inspiring, truly inspiring.

Who did it?

FUN, FUN and MORE FUN! One day ago we had another awesome tuesday, continuing our detective project. This time we had a case where somebody had bought fake IDs at an auction, then used them to make it look like they were sending money to those people, but really they were fake IDs, and really the person was just doing it to get the money for themself!!!!

Our suspects were; Amanda Remillard, Luis Rothstein and Cameron Robinson. Our first take was to make put a sheet of paper back together which may sound easy but it was actually quite hard because the paper was shredded, So we had to put it back together and then sellotape it. At the end we grabbed all the sheets to try and figure it out. One of the sheets had the fake names on it that had been bought and all the other sheets had some names on them with one of the suspects signing one of them. So we looked at the sheets and checked for any fake names and Amanda's sheet had fake names on it so she WAS GUILTY.  But there is no case this easy so there was more to it, in buddies we had to write how we figured it out and also why Amanda is guilty, then we had to put it on canva. So here is the awesome canva I made, But before I show you that, I want to ask you a question, when you first heard the names and before you knew it was Amanda who did you think it was?

Wig wednesday

Hello bloggers, today I am going to do a blog about awesome wig day. Today we are having a day when everyone comes to school in wigs and brings a gold coin donation which supports kids with cancer all around New Zealand. For the smaller kids this was just a fun day with a wig, but with the seniors it was a fun day but we also understood what the purpose was and that life is really hard for people with cancer. The more schools that do this the better because there are more school supporting this and it can really make a difference.

Rainbows, Afros and many other exciting wigs made it such a fun day. So many people had crazy hairdos walking around the class and playground and everybody was laughing together at each others wigs it was great. But more importantly together as a school we raised 136 dollars and that was just from people bringing a simple gold coin but it made a massive difference. Here are some photos from our class.

Home learning (the best age)

Hi bloggers, Today for home learning I decided to do the activity where you ask some other people what they think the best age is. I think 17 is because you get to drive and buy things yourself because that's usually when most people get a job and also there are no age restrictions for rides at fun parks.
But to show my friend Zack and my teacher Ms Spragg I made a google drawing so here it is.

Precious precepts

Hi bloggers, recently in my class we have been reading wonder.  This book inspired me in many ways and one of them is the way Mr Brown uses so many incredible precepts, so I thought that I could make a biteable that includes some precepts. I had never heard of precepts before reading Wonder but they are pretty much sayings in a simple form and I think that if you follow some precepts you will improve as a person so I made a biteable on precepts and I even made up my own one and put it in at the end, Hope you enjoy the video.

Home learning (solar eclipse)

Kia ora bloggers, Today for my home learning blog I decided to do it on if there was a solar eclipse that never ended so there was no sun. Me and my Dad discussed lots of ideas, here they are. First of all the obvious thing is that it would always be dark but also plants wouldn't grow and plants are important because plants produce oxygen and if there are no plants there would be a lot less oxygen and we need oxygen to breath. Plus things like potatoes and corn wouldn't grow so we wouldn't be able to eat them. Also if grass didn't grow then cows wouldn't have anything to eat and would eventually die so we wouldn't be able to have meat, milk or lots of other dairy products.

Then solar panels wouldn't work if there was no sun so no TV for people who use solar panels and no hot water. The sun heats the planet so we discussed the hoover dam and if the rivers or lakes froze the dam couldn't make power, me and my family have been to dams around Cromwell and Twizel so that will happen here in New Zealand because there are dams in New zealand. It would be dark all day so you wouldn't be able to play sports you love. It would make you sad if it was dark all day because you wouldn't be able to enjoy things you like doing like sports or going to the beach.

When its dark its cold so there would be no summer time so no nice sunny days at the beach.
You wouldn't be able to go boating because you wouldn't be able to see anything and you would probably end up crashing.
You wouldn't get some of the amazing views around the world because it would just be black. Places like Fiji and Hawaii wouldn't have the beautiful sunny days they do so that would mean no nice sunny vacations!!!!

Matariki artwork

Last week even though it hasn't been Matariki yet we did some Matariki art. We had about 1 hour and 30 minutes to create it. It was really fun and we got to use watercolours. Once we did all the colouring the water colours looked awesome! First we drew painted with glue and black paint mixed to make a shiny black colour, than we started to use water colours and once everything was dry it looked awesome. Below is my artwork I made. Hope you like it.
