P.A.L training at lincoln events centre

Hi bloggers, today I am going to be telling you about the awesome time I had at Lincoln events center. So P.A.L is a group of people who try get lots of people involved and having a good time by playing fun games. But obviously we needed training because we couldn't just play basketball, football and other things, because the people in charge of Canterbury sports wanted us to do other games or even make up our own games. When we got to the place there were about 5 other schools all in different areas. We were put in different colour groups, Yaldhurst (us) and another school called Mother of victory's were team green so we would be doing all the activities together. The first thing we did was adapting a game. We got a sheet with an example on it and then we adapted the game into a more fun ,competitive game. That was really fun but also a bit hard. Next we moved onto designing a game. This was really hard because it had to be something that wasn't going to get anyone hurt, and to be honest me and my friends aren't very good at that. We ended up making a game like cricket that was pretty confusing. After that we moved onto creating a PALs vision and programme. For this we had to get out or books and write what our vision is for PAL, so we thought about what we wanted to happen and how we wanted to get everyone involved. When it was time to leave I had thought about how much of a great time I had,  so if you get the chance to be in PAL try it out.

Free writing

Recently I have been doing some free writing with my friend so I thought I could show you guys some of it.

When he got there he saw mr italian with a brand new porch F1 waiting for him. Jack was surprised and feeling nervous .”So…” said mr italian “heard you are racing in the super cup well I’m going to win it”, and without a word he was gone.Jack felt furious because he was an idol and was going go any lengths to sabotage Jack’s chances.When Jack laid got home he grabbed a can of coke out of the fridge and went to his bedroom .Straight away he fell on his bed he got out his phone and started to find someone that would help him out with some practice .

So it was James hunt. The next day he got to the racing track and got some practice with James hunt then he started to school James by telling him what he could of done then the owner of the f-nex track got man and told him to go ...

Home learning: how many ways can you make 25 in 10 mins

For my home learning this week I chose to do how many ways can you make 25, but to make it harder I chose to do it in 10 minutes. So I made a Google slide for me and my Dad to do our work on. I started to do mine but I somehow found it hard to find answers because I was trying to get harder equations, but I still ended up doing some easy ones. Once I finished I checked how many equations I had written down, which was 22. So then it was time for my Dad to go. But you couldn't say he answered them properly because there were some really strange answers in there. But even though he did those weird answers I still managed to beat him because he only got 21 equations written down. This is the slide.

Electronic arm

Last week my teacher ms Taylors husband, Richard came into class to show us his electronic arm. It was really cool. It could do lots of really cool things. If he tensed his bicep it would grab something harder and then if he untensed his bicep he would drop what he had in his hand. Also you could even bluetooth the hand, so he bluetoothed it and he made it do a rock concert hand.

Swimming sports!!

Last Friday we had swimming sports. I entered 1 length breath stroke, 1 length freestyle and 2 lengths of backstroke. My first race was two lengths backstroke. I was so scared before I started the race. As soon as the teacher signalled for the race to start I went as hard as I possibly could straight away. I was up against a boy called Jonathon who does lots of swimming so he was really good. When I started the second length I was really tired because I went hard out when I did the first length. I ended up coming second, I had wanted to come first but at least I got silver. After a bit of waiting it was one length breath stroke I was more confident with this because I had practiced breath stroke. Once again as soon as the race started a went as hard as I could. By the time the race had finished I realised I had come fourth which I wasn't very happy with because I wanted to at least came third.

After a while of waiting it was time for the one length freestyle. It wasn't suprising that I was scared before the race. When the race first started I was quite a bit behind because I had a bad start. But I kept on going hard. I ended up coming 3rd out of 6 people which I was pretty happy with.

At the end of the day I had a great time and I look forward to the next swimming sports.

New books! YAY!

Last year we had a book character day that helped raise money to buy new books for the class. Today those books were sent in a package to us. We couldn't wait to see what was inside. There were so many exciting books! We took some photos with the class holding up the books.

I can't wait to read some of these books because they look really interesting and I love reading interesting books because they make me feel like I am in a different world.
