An awesome visit from the one and only

Karyn wilson! For those of you who haven't heard of her before she is an author of some famous kiwi books called Kereru's BBQ and Peka and Koro. Some of you might have heard of Kereru's BBQ but most of you probably wouldn't have heard of Peka and Koro because it hasn't even come out yet, but we were lucky enough to have it read to us. It is a great book but I won't spoil it. 

I really like the book and I recommend when it comes out you should buy it straight away!

Recently in my maths group we have been doing decimals, it is pretty easy but our teacher told us we are just doing it so we don't forget about decimals. After doing lots of slides we got to make a game which involved decimals and a snake.  It was really fun to make and choose all the different decimals to put in. Also I decided to make a screencastify of me playing the game to show you guys what it's like. Kia ora bloggers, this time for home learning I decided to do an activity called three wishes, it goes like this, You get three wishes, what would they be and why? What would a member of your family wish for and why? Share your wishes in a creative way.

So I thought a creative way to share my wishes would be Google slides, but instead of leaving them white and boring I decided to add lots of colour so it looks amazing.

Hope you like them. Also it would be great if you could give me some feedback on the slides.

My awesome free write

Kia ora bloggers, For a while I have been doing a free write about the famous miracle on the Hudson. I spent quite a while on this book, but to get it right I had to watch the movie first to find out what happens so that I could base my story on that, I did that so that I didn't just make up some story. I have made quite a lot of chapters but decided to just read you the first page/chapter, hope you enjoy. 

Also it would be great if you could give me some feedback, because there's always room for improvement.

Truly Tantalizing Tuesdays!

You may remember a while ago I did a post about Pom Poms, Well guess what, that was just the start of the incredible knitting experience. As last Tuesday, Group A (My group) started knitting!

Some people think it is a boring old lady thing but once you get the hang of it you have lots of fun. 

At first I found it super hard because it all seemed like a confusing mess, but after lots of practising I got the hang of it.

It is fairly, fantastically fun. 

So eventually I started knitting and made a great start.  I decided to take a photo of what I've done so far. 

It would be great if you could give me some great feedback on how I'm doing so far and just on my blog post overall. Also this is my first time knitting so I reckon I'm doing pretty good.

I recommend knitting for other people because it is actually super fun and easy to enjoy.

Next time I might try and get it done faster, my next step is to make something big like a blanket.

Our epic bridge

Kia ora bloggers, This week it is maths week so in our class we got activities we got to choose out of. The one I chose is one where we have to build a bridge out of:

100 Popsicle sticks

5 meters of tape

& Two meters of string.

It may sound easy to use all these materials to make a bridge, but really it is challenging. At the moment my group and I haven't finished our bridge, but I decided to get some feedback on where we are at the moment and what we need to improve, So please give feedback.

EPro8! Hi bloggers today I am going to tell you about the fun time I had at EPro8.
First of all EPro8 is a challenge where you have a big stand box sort of thing and there are poles, nuts, bolts, joiner, cords, batteries and lots more. So what happens is you get a book and there are tones of challenges in it, one by one you complete as many as you can, also each time you complete a challenge you are awarded points, so at the end the team with the most points wins!
But some challenges are worth more than others, it is based on how difficult it is to complete the challenge. For most of it Zack, Connor and I were 2 or 3, but last minute points were awarded and we ended up coming 6th out of 12 groups, which we were still pretty happy with.
Zack and I decided to make a google drawing with pictures from EPro8, showing all the fun we had.
If you really want to try something out, something new, you should definitely do EPro8, it is so fun and you will definitely enjoy it

Home learning (Book report)

Kia ora bloggers, Today for home learning I am doing a book report about Demon Dentist, by David Walliams. Here is a summary of the book.
This book is great, really exciting and sometimes even freaky. Every chapter you finish you want to read more, you can't put it down. Alfie is a kid who lives alone with his father, who is in a wheelchair and sick because he used to work in the coal mines. Alfie is really nice, but becomes suspicious when there is a new dentist that comes that gives him the creeps, He goes on an adventure to try stop her from taking all the childrens teeth.

This book is brilliant, I recommend it for anyone because it is really fun and a great book to read. I really like David Walliams and this was one of my favourite books of his. Here is a picture of it.

Speeches

Kia ora bloggers, Today I am going to blog about speeches. At the moment in my class everyone is planning and writing their speeches. There are all sorts of different topics happening, but I chose to do my speech on pollution. Below is one of the paragraphs from my speech, could you please give feedback on it because I want to know if it is good or not.

People need to get in and do what needs to be done, clean, It may not sound like fun, It may not sound heroic, but it truly is because every piece of rubbish you pick up you’re making a difference, you’re saving an animals life, So get in and do the work

Movie time (Home learning)

Hi bloggers, Today for Home learning I decided to do it on an activity called Movie Time, This is what I have to do, If a movie was made based on life in your, what would it be called, Why? which actors and actresses would be in it, create a movie poster.

So the movie would be called Life in Heaven because it is so fun in my house with my family, The actors and actresses would be my family, here is a movie poster I created, (I managed to get the worst photos possible!)

Hi Bloggers, Today for Cybersmart we talked about making good relationship online and how if you something nice it will become a ripple effect and everyone else will comment good, but sadly if you comment bad then it will be ripple effect and lots of other people will too. But at the end we did a screencastify and did a shout out to someone to thank them for something, this is my shout-out to my Dad.
